As seen earlier, one of the objectives of SDTC is to encourage medical institutions to understand the application of advanced basic research in molecular biology in the field of rapid diagnosis of Tropical Diseases, and to train the clinicians/scientists in that area. Towards achieving the goal, the Scientific Advisory Committee decided to hold workshops on "Application of Polymerase Chain Reaction" in clinical diagnosis.
